"This course is designed to acquaint the student with theories and principles of artistic design and allow the student to apply an artistic approach to floral design projects. The students explore and acquire practical skills and knowledge by exploring elements and principles of design, two, or three dimensional designs, history of floral art, arrangement styles and techniques, seasonal, holiday and occasional designs. The student will achieve this through creating, designing, identifying, explaining, and evaluating all topics of study. Balance, symmetry, harmony, unity and texture and use of floral and synthetic media will be stressed in this course. Curriculum will include problem solving, creative thinking, and written and verbal communication skills."
